Subway Equipment

The NYC Subways have run a wide variety of equipment since the opening of the subway in 1904, and the elevated in the 1800's. The following pages is looking at cars that have been retired from service. At present this section of the website deals with operable vintage subway equipment that is often used on railfan excursions of the system. Most are retained by the NY Transit Museum (a must visit museum in Brooklyn!). Eventually I plan to expand this section to include all the subway car classes that I have photographed over the years. Please enjoy the content so far!
