The New York Metro Area was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. MN was affected, especially the Hudson and New Haven, but service was restore relatively quickly. The NY area is the Ktransit's original hometown, and there are ktransit friends affected by the storm's blast. NY metro area makes up nearly 10% of all the photos of ktransit.com. As such Ktransit.com would like to help out the relief efforts of the NY/NJ metro area.

Metro-North

This Commuter Railroad serves the northern city suburbs including Connecticut. Kavanagh Transit has been on the Hudson Division many times over the years, and is highly recommended from a scenery point of view. Metro-North is made of 3 trunk lines a few branches. The Trunk lines are the Hudson division, Harlem Division and New Haven Division. It does play second fiddle to the LIRR in terms of mileage and passengers, but it is still one of the largest commuter systems in the US.
