The Emerald City is a powerhouse of public transit in the Pacific Northwest. Its Light Rail system runs in a subway through the city’s center and is growing rapidly. Two modern streetcar lines and a commuter rail system also exist. Lastly, due to its hills, it still maintains a relatively large trolley bus network.

Tacoma, Washington

Tacoma is a city rich in history with railroads and shipping. The city was the western terminal of the Northern PAcific Railroad. Trains still run thru Tacoma, including Amtrak. As part of the Sound Transit district, it has a one-line light rail/streetcar system linking the Tacoma Dome to the Downtown and Uphill districts.
