5-Train

The #5 is similar to the # 4 in Manhattan. But in the Bronx, it is better. The main branch of the line run to Dyre Ave. This was part of the former NY, Westchester and Boston, a failed Interurban system built to high standards. Parts of this line seems to be almost country like. 

During Rush hours the # 5 also starts from 238th on the #2 line. Both branches join at E180th St. It then runs non-stop in peak direction from E 180th to 3rd Ave/149th St on the center El express track. A neat express run!
