Japanese Railway Society

The Japanese Railway Society is a group dedicated to the study and modeling of Japan's railways. It was founded in 1991 and is based in the United Kingdom. The official website is: Japanese Railway Society. The webmaster of Kavanagh Transit is the US representative for the organization. 

For US Members we now have an E-mail based Message Forum up and running on Yahoo Groups.

If you are interested in the Japanese railroading consider joining the JRS. With a membership you are entitled to:

• Copies of the quarterly newsletter The Bullet-In. This newsletter is anywhere between 30~45 pages with 2~4 pages with color photographs!  
• Opportunity to purchase models, books and videos through the JRS store.
• Notification of guided railfan tours in Japan.
• US members get a one page newsletter the Benkei (Comes with The Bullet-In) which offers US members a forum to share stories and/or a classified buy/sell or trade Japan rail related items.

US members pay $30.00 plus a one time $1.60 initiation fee. For other countries please refer to the JRS website for further information.
