Points of Interest This station was originally built by the LIRR for Rockaway Service. In the 1950's, LIRR sold the line to the NYCTA. It was rebuilt and made part of the subway system. Here at Howard Beach one may board a AirTrain (for $5) for a short ride to JFK Airport
