New York Region Transit > New York City > Commuter > LIRR
Jamaica Station

Jamaica

Jamaica Station is an extremely busy station on the LIRR. All but one line that goes to a NYC terminal stops, or goes through, this funnel point on the system (the exception is the Port Washington branch). It is very common for all 3 inbound tracks to have trains stopped simultaneously. The train on the center opens both sets of doors to allow passengers to transfer through the middle train. NY bound passengers have a choice of Penn Station, Brooklyn or Hunters Point bound trains. All-in-all a great place to watch commuter trains at work.
