BC Skytrain

Vancouver in BC has the automated SkyTrain system. It is a unique system that borders between heavy rail and light rail. It operates in a subway downtown. It cars use linear induction motors for propulsion. Train frequencies are high. The Millennium line openedin in 2002, and is compatiable with the Expo Line.

The Canada line, opened in 2009. It links Richmond and the Airport to downtown and to Waterfront station. It does not have a physical rail connection to the Expo or Millennium lines as it uses different propulsion technology.

In 2016 the Evergreen Exension of the Millennium Line opened.
