PATCO |
PATCO is an interstate metro. It opened in 1969 as a automated system connecting Lindenwold with Camden and Philadelphia. The Camden and Philly sections use the original Ben Franklin Bridge spur of the Ridge St spur of the Broad St. Subway which opened in 1930. When PATCO opened the line Ridge St. trains cut back to Market St, while PATCO continued under Locust St. to 15th St.
PATCO is an efficient, clean and fast. They are starting to refurbish their original fleet of cars, which turn 40 years old and still look good and modern, except for the interior colors. There is always talks about adding a branch or two to the system, but thus far, nothing more then that.
