Tokaido Line

Before the Tokaido Shinkansen was the Tokaido mainline. Before the rails, there was the shogun era Tokaido Highway. All three start in Tokyo to Nagoya and Kyoto. The current Tokaido line serves the distance commuters as well as some long distance train services.
