TRAX |
The naysayers said it would never be popular, but TRAX has been proven that you build it and they will want more.
After building the line to Sandy in 1999, everyone in the Salt Lake basin wanted Light Rail. The University line soon followed. An extension to the new FrontRunner station was next. Followed quick are lines to the Airport, Draper, Mid-Jordon and West Valley.
TRAX even runs on Sundays which has opened up downtown on weekends.
TRAX obtained used Light Rail Cars from San Jose, CA (built by UTDC) to supplement their fleet of Siemens high floor cars. With all the recent extensions they acquired low-floor cars from Siemens
The system as of 2014 is made up of 3 lines. 2 18 3 5
