Nurmberg is Bavaria's seconds city, but don't tell Nurembergers that. VAG manages the system within and between Nuremberg and Furth, as well as other nearby suburbs. The region has a large tram network until the U-Bahn started to open. Today the tram network is slated to expand.

The U-Bahn consists of 3 lines, two being automated. Nuremberg is one of only a few cities that its U-Bahn or metro, connects the city to its airport.
