This is a major station north of Tokyo. Several JR lines
converge here and serve as the end of major commute zone for Tokyo, but
many continue beyond. All of JR East Shinkansen services from Tokyo stop
here as well. The station is on 3 levels. The Shinkansen is elevated, most
of the JR services are on street level, then there are 4 more tracks in a
subway under the station.
The Tokyo Railway Museum is near here. You can walk, or board the
"New Shuttle" line and go one stop to the museum station. |
