Cynthia and the kids
were pretty tired, so Mark took advantage and spent the morning
riding and photographing the various forms of rail transit around London.
A detail report to which is featured on the
Kavanagh Transit Website.
Mark met the family at
McDonald's at Earl's Court for lunch. From there we were off to Convent
Gardens. Emily wanted to stop at an Herbalist there in the Piazza. We
watched street performers for a while, then off to Virgin Megastore by
Oxford Circus, along with a few bookstores. A ride on a Routemaster bus
helped out on this part of the trip. Cynthia's foot was starting to swell
badly, so we took her back to the hotel. Emily and I went out to ride the
oldest part of the underground. She had been upset because Virgin did not
have what she wanted. I took her over to Tower Records at Piccadilly
Circus. They did have what she wanted, so life was better.

We went back to the
hotel. Dinner was at a nice Chinese Restaurant on Earl's Court Road. After
dinner we rode the tube to Westminster to view Big Ben and the Parliament
Building at night. It was a really nice night for a walk across the
Thames. Then it was back to the hotel to pack up to go home.
