US East Transit >Washington DC Metro
L'Efant Plaza

DC Metro

This is one of 3 major transfer station in "downtown" DC. Metro Center and Gallery Place stations are similar. L'Efant is unique in that there are 4 Metro lines that cross here. The Green and Yellow on the upper level, the Blue and Orange on the lower level. Also, unlike Metro Center, they do not cross in the dead center of the upper level, but to the south of center. This station is also by the VRE L'Efant Plaza station above ground.

Dramatic up-lighting along the platform. (2/18/08) The east concourse, with stairs down to the lower level. The exit here is for a DOT building, but was closed for construction. (2/18/08)
Now entering America's Subway/ (2/18/08) The meeting of the north/south and east/west vaults. Very dramatic. (2/18/08)
