San Diego Trolley |
The silver line is a vintage trolley line in San Diego. It uses 2 PCC cars that circle downtown San Diego on the lifht rail tracks .
The first PCC # 529 came from XXX. The installed a ADA accesisble lift at the front door, requiring regular passenger to use the rear door. The sceond car is #520 that entered service in 2015. There ia thrid car in restoration form Philadelphia that should enter service in a coupel of years. All car are using the livery of the former San Diefo Trolley system.
The Silver Line operates Tues, Thurs and weekends from 11am-3:30pm. running about every 30 minutes.
There is consideration to restore more PCC service and an line extension to serve tourist friendly Balboa Park. Personally, I think that is a great idea as Balboa Park is not curently served by Light Rail and links downtown to Balboa Park by Rail
