Vintage Trolley (Silver Line)

The silver line is a vintage trolley line in San Diego. It uses 2 PCC cars that circle downtown San Diego on the lifht rail tracks .

The first PCC # 529 came from San Francisco MUNI. The installed a ADA accessible lift at the front door, requiring regular passenger to use the rear door.  The sceond car is #530 that entered service in 2015 is from Newark. There ia  third car in restoration from Philadelphia that should enter service in a At some point. All cars are using the livery of the former San Diefo Trolley system. Also car 1001, and original San Diego U2 car is a part of the fleet.

The Silver Line operates Tues, Thurs and weekends from 11am-3:30pm.  running about every 30 minutes.

There is consideration to restore more PCC service and an line extension to serve tourist friendly Balboa Park. Personally, I think that is a great idea as Balboa Park is not currently served by Light Rail and links downtown to Balboa Park by Rail
