LA Light Rail

There is more light rail mileage in LA than heavy rail. The A Line (was Blue line) connecting LA and Long Beach has proven popular. It may help that it closely follows the Red Car (Pacific Electric) Interurban route that closed in the early 1960's. The C line (was Green Line) was the next open in XXXX in the median of the Century Freeway. The northern extension of the A Line (was Gold Line) followed in 2003 (thw wast LA line that became part of the E line opened in 2009. The E Lien (was Expo Line opened in 2012. The K is the newest line opening in 2022.

The regional connector opened in 2023 that change the Light rail lines simplifying the system with minimizing transfers.

Extension to the A Line and K lines are under construction. There is also talk of more lines to come.
