Yard information The current depot is Broomloan. The yard leads are located between Govan and Ibrox stations. Originally there were no yard lead. Rolling stock had to be lifted out of the tunnel for servicing. The trains were left on the mainline over night. Sicne the original line was cable hauled this made sense at the time. During the system modernization in 1977, yard leads were added a newere workshop built.
Equipment Information The current rolling stock were buil between 1977 and 1979 by Metro Cammell. 8 additional trailers were added in 1992. These trains replaced the original rolling stock from 1896. The original stock started as cable hauled. They were converted to electric in 1935. New rolling stock is on order to replace the current equipment.o
