Dresden Strassenbahn

This is a very different type of funicular. Located on the north shore of the Elbe River to the east of downtown Dresden, near the Blue Wonder Bridge. This is a suspended monorail cable hauled incline railway. It was designed by the same engineer that designed the Wuppertal Suspended monorail, which is still in operation. However that line is electrically powered and does not go up a mountain.

There are 2 tracks with one car on each track. The line is operated by the Dresden transit system, DVB.
