JR Commuter

These lines are famous for the rush hour "pushers". They are platform guards that help cram as many people onto a train as possible. This is especially true on the Chuo and Yamanote Lines in Tokyo. With so many people living outside the expensive Tokyo city there are a lot of commuters from the outlining suburbs. The former government owned JNR is now the private JR East in Tokyo which moves most of the commuters. However with the amount of commuters, there are many private railroads that haul passengers around the region. I have only been on a few of them.
