Streetcar

Before the streetcar open many area residents were angered by the city for building the line. The area started to re-develop and push some people away. A small hole-in-the-wall coffee shop, called Kapow coffee shop was one of the upset neighbors. Their shop is right next to the streetcar yard/shop. The owner decided to make t-shirts with defiant South Lake Union Trolley moniker, which of course the acronym is SLUT!

Kapow coffee did make great coffee. I talked with the barista, it is unfortunately that the his little place is now more of a t-shirt store that happens to sell good coffee. But it is now closed....
