11th Ave Turnaround

Not in Service

Year Opened 1996 # of Tracks 3
Platform Layout NONE
Park-n-Ride No Transit Center No
City Portland Right of Way Private
Points of Interest This it a turn back facility, no platforms, Portland Streetcar, southbound is also here.

This is strictly a turnaround facility for eastside trains. It was the original MAX terminus. When the Airport, Red Line opened, in 9/01, this was its terminal, until it was extended to Beaverton in 9/03. the turnaround became active again for regular MAX trains when the Yellow Line opened in 5/04. But now the Yellow line has switch to 5th/6th Avenues. Vintage Trolley from Lloyd Center have used this turnaround for their terminal, but it too now uses 5th & 6th Aves. So this is strictly used for short-turn eastside blue trains, or for emergencies.
