This along, with Hawthorn Farm station, make up the heart of the Silicon Forest, so named because of the concentration of Semiconductor companies in the area. Orenco was also a stop on the old Oregon Electric. Nearby Orenco Station development is creating urban spaces out of former farmland, complete with a downtown, apartments, and homes.
