LA Light Rail

There is more light rail mileage in LA then heavy rail. The Blue line connecting LA and Long Beach has proven popular. It may help that it closely follows the only Red Car (Pacific Electric) Interurban route that closed in the early 1960's. The Green Line in the median of the Century Freeway with allowances to connect to LAX (airport).

The Gold Line to Pasadena was opened in late 2003, the Gold Line to East LA opened in 2009. The Expo Line to Culver City opened in 2012. More expansions are under construction and planned!
