Netherlands Transit

Amsterdam Trams

Holland may be a small country, but it is not small when it comes to transit. Holland has full metros in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. There are tram/light rail lines in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, and Utrecht. Then there is the single electric trolley bus city of Arnhem. There is talk of more light rail lines around the country.

Amsterdam has 4 Metro lines. 3 of them end at Centraal Station. 1 of the 3 at Centraal is a SnelTram (Fast Tram) meaning it operates like a tram outside city center. The 4th metro line is almost a loop line (with the mainline railroad completing the loop). Amsterdam also has a vast network of streetcar lines. Nearly all converge on Centraal Station. From here you can go anywhere in this city. Holland Commuter Trains are included here
Arnhem 2   Arnhem maintains Holland's only Electric Trolley Bus network.
Den Haag   3   Den Haag maintains the tram network that is being upgraded.
Rotterdam 9   Rotterdam is the big port city of Holland. It has two metro lines that are complemented with several tram lines
Utrecht 4   Utrecht has a two line modern Light Rail system that ends at its Centraal Station.
