London Transport Museum
It is always hard to select a top
museum, but for displays and presentation this is one of the best
transit museums in the world. It has a great sampling of London's
transport history. It has horsecars to trolleys, Trolley buses to
Routemaster buses, an original tube stock train to more modern
underground rolling stock. The gift shop is also fantastic. When in
London make this a required stop!
The photos below are a mere sampling of
the cars in their collection. Please enjoy!

This
bench is located just outside the main entrance to the museum. It is
done in the now famous LT roundel. |
When
you see a bus like this your first thought is London, isn't it! |
London's
transport started with omnibuses and horsecars, such as this double deck
car seen here. |
London
at one time had a huge network of streetcar lines that ran throughout
the city and suburbs. They were also double-deckers! |
This
steam engine operated on the oldest underground railway in the world,
the Metropolitan. The line opened in 1863. |
This
underground car operated on the District line, another one of the
sub-surface lines in London. |

London, now part of the Northern Line. |
