Trains

 The Metro is a commuter rialway network linking central Melbourne to the suburbs. The hub of the network is the City Loop which is a 4-track loop with part of it undergound, part of is elevated. All linking to Southern Cross and Flinder St Stations. The loop is interesting as the the cirection of tain from each group of lines chenge their direction (clockwise vs. counter-clockwise) between the morning and the afternoon.

The systme is builidn a newe undergound line thru center city to alleviate capacity problems with the city loop during rush hours.
