Singapore Transit

The island of Singapore is a city-state just off the tip of Malaysia. It is a little economic powerhouse with a huge port. The population continues to grow at a rapid pace. The country has policies to encourage public transit ridership over the automobile. But to keep up with the growth, Singapore has been growing their MRT (Metro/subway) system just as quickly.

As of 2014 there are 5 MRT lines and 3 automated Light Rail lines, with more under construction and planned. To connect the resort island of Sentosa to the main island there is the Sentosa Express monorail, which is separate from the rest of the transit systems on the main island.
