Sheffield

Light Rail
Sheffield built a modern light system in 1994. It was called Supertram since the beginning. The cars do look rather large, and definitely larger than regular trams. The system will be expanded agina by using "tram-trains". This line will use trams  that will operate on the tram system and on mainline railway.

Doe to a rental car breakdown, my plans to ride the system did not happen. I had a hour in the morning to walk the line thru the downtown area and photograph. I hope to return someday.

Only 3 stations and a major tram junction are featured on this website at this time.
