This railway branches off the JR Chuo Line at
Otsuki. It is a mostly single track line that serves the gateway to the Mt
Fuji tourist areas on the north flank. It also serves an amusement park
(Fuji-Q Highland) that is run by the railway. The line also has a stop
(Kasei) near the JR Maglev Yamanashi test track/welcome center. It is just
a 20 minute walk.
Most trains are locals with some express service,
as well as a few through trains from the JR Chuo Line originating in
Shinjuku.
