Mammoth Hot Springs

We started on the road at about 9:00am. We headed north to Mammoth Hot Springs via Norris. We kept a lookout for Moose, but they were hiding. We left Yellowstone at about 11:00 am via the North Entrance.

We continued to drive north stopping for lunch in Livingston Montana. Mark visited the Depot museum there.

We started heading westbound along I-90.

North Entrance to
Yellowstone

We stopped a Deer Lodge, MT so Mark could photograph a Milwaukee Road "Little Joe" Electric Locomotive. I-90 follows the this last Transcontinental Railroad to be built, and the first to be abandoned in the 1980's. In this are the railroad was electrified.

"Little Joe"

We continued west ending the day at Missoula, MT at a KOA. We had stayed in this KOA back in 1996. It is the best KOA that we know of with pool, hot tub, ice cream social and much more!
