Tokyo still has more forms of transit then traditional steel wheel on steel rails. The Tokyo basin has 3 monorails and three automated guide way lines. The 6 monorails in the Tokyo region serving different suburban cities. They are: Tokyo, Chiba City, Shonan, Tama City, Tokyo Disneyland Resort, and the Ueno Zoo. I have been on two of them. The most crowded would be the Tokyo Monorail which connects Haneda Airport with Tokyo. It is a straddle beam system that is very busy. The other is the suspended monorail in Chiba. One of the 4 guide way transit systems in the region as well. They typically run on rubber tires. They are sometimes considered Light Metros. They are: Tôkyô Rinkai Shin Kôtsû "Yurikamome" line; the Yokohama Shin Kôtsû "Kanazawa Seaside" line; the Saitama Shin Toshi Kôtsû "Saitama New Shuttle" line; and Yûkarigaoka in Sakura-shi, Chiba (the first, built in 1983). I have only been on the Yurikamome Line that serves a new development in Tokyo bay. Please choose your destination.
