UP Challenger 3985

This is the largest Steam Locomotive still in operation in the United States (if not the world). The Union Pacific maintains the locomotive for special publicity runs.

3985 is at speed on the old SP Willamette Valley mainline at Brooks, OR. Estimated speed, 60 mph!	Here is a look at it two sets of 6 drivers. They are articulated as to the locomotive's enormous length. (9/10/05)
